Dr. Ganga Hematillake is VA New England Healthcare System’s new CMO

Bedford, Mass.-based VA New England Healthcare System named Ganga Hematillake, MD, CMO. Dr. Hematillake, who has been with the VA for more than 18 years, will oversee the clinical delivery of healthcare to approximately to veterans in the six New England states.

Dr. Hematillake most recently served as the chief of staff at the White River Junction (Vt.) VA Medical Center. He has also held leadership positions at the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center in Wichita, Kan., and the VA Central California Health Care System in Fresno, Calif.

Dr. Hematillake earned his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in the West Indies.

VA New England Healthcare System includes eight medical centers.
