Here are five notes:
1. Dr. Ko began his new role Nov. 1, prior to which he was an associate professor of surgery at Harvard Medical School and director of regional urology for Massachusetts General Hospital, both based in Boston.
2. He has served as surgical director of the adult and pediatric renal transplant program at Massachusetts General Hospital.
3. He has been involved with four start-ups, two of which were acquired by Olympus and Fresenius.
4. Fellowship-trained in transplantation at Massachusetts General, Dr. Ko is a past president of the Urological Society for Transplantation and Renal Surgery.
5. In 2015, he won the inaugural W. Scott McDougal Prize for Teaching and Mentoring in the department of urology at Massachusetts General.
