Dignity hospital taps chief medical officer 

Dignity Health Mercy San Juan Medical Center in Carmichael, Calif., has appointed Vimal Mishra, MD, as chief medical officer.

Dr. Mishra has nearly 17 years of healthcare leadership experience, most recently serving as associate CMO and vice president of digital care at UC Davis Health in Sacramento, Calif. 

In his new role, Dr. Mishra will oversee the hospital’s medical staff, optimize clinical operations and pioneer innovative care delivery models. 

He replaces Miral Patel, MD, who stepped down in March for another leadership position within Dignity Health, according to a Sept. 5 news release.
