Dignity Health names Central Valley market president

David Ziolkowski has been appointed president of Dignity Health’s Central Valley market, which includes seven hospitals across Central California, according to a June 29 news release shared with Becker’s.

Effective July 6, Mr. Ziolkowski will oversee:

  • Bakersfield Memorial Hospital (Bakersfield)
  • Mercy Hospital Downtown (Bakersfield)
  • Mercy Hospital Southwest (Bakersfield)
  • Mercy Medical Center Merced (Merced)
  • St. Joseph’s Medical Center (Stockton)
  • St. Joseph’s Behavioral Health Hospital (Stockton)
  • Mark Twain Medical Center (San Andreas)

Mr. Ziolkowski will continue to serve as president of St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Stockton, a role he assumed in February 2025, until a successor is appointed.

Before joining Dignity Health, he served as CEO of Tenet Healthcare’s Carondelet St. Mary’s Hospital in Tucson, Ariz.

Chicago-based CommonSpirit Health’s Dignity Health California includes more than 35,000 employees, 29 acute care hospitals and more than 200 care sites.
