Detroit Medical Center CMO Dr. Leonardo Lozada steps down

Leonardo Lozada, MD, has resigned as CMO of Detroit Medical Center, a spokesperson confirmed via email to Becker’s Hospital Review.

Vinay Pallekonda, MD, CMO of DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital in Detroit, and Rudolph Valentini, MD, CMO of the DMC Group, will take on Dr. Lozada’s responsibilities in the interim.

Dr. Lozada assumed the CMO role at Detroit Medical Center in January. He was previously senior vice president and chief physician executive at St. Luke’s Health System in Kansas City, Mo. In addition to his training as an anesthesiologist, he holds an MBA from Durham, N.C.-based Duke University.

Detroit Medical Center did not offer a reason for his resignation.
