1. Dr. Hegland comes to Decatur Memorial from SSM Health/Dean Health System in Madison, Wis., where he was regional CMO.
2. Prior to that, he was CMO and system medical director at Ministry Health Care, now a part of St. Louis-based Ascension.
3. An anesthesiologist by training, Dr. Hegland has been practicing since 1990.
