The commissioners asked Tallahassee (Fla.) Memorial Hospital to replace Mr. Cooper. The Weems Memorial Hospital CEO works under contract with TMH, per an agreement put into place before Mr. Cooper assumed the CEO role in December 2014.

According to Commissioner Cheryl Sanders, Mr. Cooper did not fulfill certain key responsibilities, such as being personally present for inspections by the Agency for Health Care Administration and The Joint Commission. Additionally, she said that Mr. Cooper committed to securing rural health clinic status for Weems Memorial when he took the CEO role, but only secured the status for Weems’ Carrabelle, Fla., campus thus far.

“I am not satisfied with his performance as a CEO of Weems Memorial Hospital in Franklin County Florida,” Cheryl Sanders said, according to Apalachicola Times.

Tallahassee Memorial Hospital has 30 days to find a replacement for Mr. Cooper.
