On Aug. 23, the hospital board named Mr. Basch acting CEO. The board meeting revealed a number of underlying issues. Douglas Crane, MD, told board members that four physicians who are going to begin providing care at the hospital haven’t been properly vetted, according to the report.

Additionally, Chief of Staff Brock Millet, MD, noted that there is a nurse shortage at the hospital.

Mr. Basch faces a number of challenges as he takes the reigns at the hospital. He is slated to serve as acting CEO until the hospital finds an interim CEO, according to the report.
