Here are four things to know:
1. Mr. Ameen, now retired, works as an interim service provider for B.E. Smith, a healthcare-focused headhunting firm the hospital hired.
2. Most recently, Mr. Ameen served as CEO of Logansport (Ind.) Memorial Hospital.
3. He takes over Coquille Valley Hospital after former CEO Karen Lautermilch resigned in August. Jim Basch, the hospital’s CFO, was acting CEO in the interim.
4. Mr. Ameen intends to “focus on the future rather than what may have taken place in the past,” according to the report.
