Crista Durand exited her role as president and CEO of New Britain, Conn.-based Hospital for Special Care, a long-term acute care facility, effective March 16.
The organization and Ms. Durand mutually agreed to a leadership change, a hospital spokesperson said in a March 17 statement shared with Becker’s.
Lynn Ricci was appointed interim CEO, the spokesperson said. She previously served as the hospital’s CEO from 2015 to 2025 before Ms. Durand’s appointment.
Before joining Hospital for Special Care in February 2025, Ms. Durand served as president and CEO of Newport (R.I.) Hospital for a decade.
“We thank Crista for her contributions to the organization and wish her the best in her future endeavors,” the spokesperson said.
Hospital for Special Care is the fourth largest free-standing, long-term acute care hospital in the U.S., according to its website.
