Dr. Swords joined Cone Health as chief of the primary care division of Greensboro-based LeBauer HealthCare in 1996. In 2009 he became vice president and CMIO and was instrumental in the system’s successful transition to Cone HealthLink, Cone Health’s EMR system.
Currently, Dr. Swords is completing a CMO fellowship with Health Management Academy, and he was an inaugural graduate of the Cone Health Physician Leadership Academy, a partnership with the Center for Creative Leadership to develop physician leaders.
