Indianapolis-based Community Health Network has named three new leaders to its team, effective Sept. 28, according to a news release shared with Becker’s.
Elisabeth Klar will serve as the system’s executive vice president and chief people officer, Cate Sabatine will serve as executive vice president and general counsel and Ed Simcox will serve as executive vice president and chief digital technology officer.
In her new role, Ms. Klar will lead the system’s human resources strategy, including caregiver engagement, organizational culture initiatives, talent development and workforce planning.
Ms. Klar has more than 20 years of healthcare human resources leadership experience. She previously served as senior vice president and CHRO for Springfield, Ill.-based Memorial Health. She also served in leadership roles at Pittsburgh, Pa.-based Highmark Health and Cleveland Clinic.
As Community Health Network’s executive vice president and general counsel, Ms. Sabatine will provide the system’s leadership team and board of directors strategic legal counsel. She will oversee corporate governance, enterprise legal risk management, government relations, legal affairs and regulatory compliance.
Prior to her new role, Ms. Sabatine served as chief administrative officer and general counsel for American Senior Communities, leading both human resources and legal operations.
As Community Health Network’s executive vice president and chief digital technology officer, Mr. Simcox will lead enterprise technology strategy and digital transformation efforts across the system.
His responsibilities include analytics, artificial intelligence initiatives, cybersecurity, data strategy and technology innovation.
Prior to his new role, Mr. Simcox led Oracle Health’s artificial intelligence and interoperability product portfolios. He also directed major digital transformation initiatives at Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic and served as chief technology officer and acting chief information officer for HHS.
