CommonSpirit’s St. Luke’s names Houston Market president

Michael Lawson was appointed Houston Market president at St. Luke’s Health in Texas, part of Chicago-based CommonSpirit Health.

Mr. Lawson will begin his new role on Dec. 30, overseeing operations and business entities for St. Luke’s eight hospitals in Greater Houston, including Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center, the system announced Nov. 20.

He has held various roles at Columbus-based OhioHealth since 2009, most recently as president of OhioHealth Hospitals.

In his new role, he will take over for Matt Brown, senior vice president of operations and transformation at CommonSpirit, who served as interim Houston Market president.

CommonSpirit operates more than 2,200 care sites in 24 states.
