Columbia University Irving Medical Center selects COO

New York City-based Columbia University Irving Medical Center named Donna Lynne, DrPH, senior vice president and COO, effective Jan. 15, 2019. She will also serve as CEO of ColumbiaDoctors, the faculty medical practice of Columbia University Medical Center in New York City.

Dr. Lynne is lieutenant governor and COO for the state of Colorado. In these roles within the Colorado state government, she helps improve performance, accountability and transparency in state operations.

She previously served as executive vice president of Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Kaiser Foundation Hospitals as well as as group president responsible for Kaiser’s Colorado, Pacific Northwest and Hawaii regions. She has also worked in the New York City government, serving in several leadership roles, including director of the Mayor’s Office of Operations and senior vice president of the New York City Health and Hospitals Corp., now known as NYC Health + Hospitals.

Dr. Lynne earned her doctor of public health degree from New York City-based Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health. She has also received an honorary doctorate of public service from the University of Denver.
