Clara Maass Medical Center selects first chief clinical effectiveness officer: 3 notes

Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, N.J., named Naveen Ballem, MD, its inaugural chief clinical effectiveness officer, according to a ROI-NJ report.

Three notes:

1. Dr. Ballem previously served as the hospital’s medical director of bariatric services.

2. He also served as a clinical instructor at Cleveland Clinic’s Lerner School of Medicine.

3. In his new role, Dr. Ballem will oversee the planning and execution of quality initiatives in several areas, including clinical performance, regulatory compliance and patient safety.
