Children's Wisconsin CEO to retire

Peggy Troy, MSN, RN, plans to retire as president and CEO of Milwaukee-based Children's Wisconsin by the end of December 2024.

The institution's board of directors has hired a national search firm and formed a search committee to identify Ms. Troy's successor, according to an Oct. 26 news release.

Ms. Troy has helmed Children's Wisconsin since 2009, when she became the first female president and CEO of the pediatric health system.

During her tenure, the institution was named one of the first Level I Children's Surgery Centers in the U.S. and launched a five-year, $150 million investment to address the mental and behavioral health challenges facing Wisconsin children, according to the release. Children's Wisconsin also recently unveiled a new emergency department and level I trauma center at its Milwaukee hospital campus.

The search for the next leader of Children's Wisconsin is expected to be complete next year.
