In his new role, he will lead digital and operational transformation aiming to improve efficiency, patient access, employee engagement and the patient-family experience.

The new transformation office will combine several CHLA teams: digital transformation, virtual care, operational transformation, KidsX, the CHLA Innovation Studio, and the FDA-funded Consortium for Technology & Innovation in Pediatrics. Mr. Kulkarni already headed KidsX, an accelerator that has brought together more than 30 children’s hospitals to develop 52 pediatric digital health startups.
