Children’s Mercy Kansas City taps new CEO: 5 things to know

Children’s Mercy Kansas City (Mo.) named Paul Kempinski president and CEO, effective Nov. 1.

Here are five things to know:

1. Mr. Kempinski is currently president of Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Del. He is also enterprise vice president for Jacksonville, Fla.-based Nemours Children’s Health System.

2. He previously served as operational VP for Nemours Children’s Health System and COO of Nemours/Alfred I. duPont.

3. He has also served as COO of Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby, Pa.

4. He is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.

5. Mr. Kempinski holds a master’s in health system management from Rush University in Chicago.
