CHI St. Luke's names CFO: 5 things to know

CHI St. Luke's Health in Houston has named Jenny Barnett-Sarpalius CFO of the CHI Texas Division, effective immediately.

Here are five things to know about Ms. Barnett-Sarpalius.

1. In her new role, she will represent Texas on the CHI National Enterprise Finance Operations Leadership Council, which is responsible for developing the overall financial strategy for CHI. She will also serve as a leader over the division's financial operation, help the division's leaders develop and implement an effective long-term financial model, and establish a financial operational infrastructure to support the organization.

2. Prior to her new role, Ms. Barnett-Sarpalius was interim CFO of the CHI Texas Division.

3. She previously worked for Memorial Hermann Health System in Houston, CHRISTUS Health in Irving, Texas, and Catholic Health East in Newtown Square, Pa., which merged with Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health in 2013.

4. More recently, she was executive vice president and CFO of Livonia-based CHE Trinity Health — the nation's second largest nonprofit Catholic healthcare system. CHE Trinity Health abbreviated its name to Trinity Health more than a year after Catholic Health East and Trinity Health merged to form the system.

5. Ms. Barnett-Sarpalius earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Louisiana State University, based in Baton Rouge.
