Here are four things to know:
1. Mr. McElligott said he is stepping down to consider his options and pursue new ventures.
“I’ve reached a point in my life where I want to explore other interests and rediscover myself,” Mr. McElligott said in a statement.
2. He has served as president of CHI Health St. Francis for the last eight years.
3. During his time as president, he helped plan and develop the patient tower that opened in 2007, among other achievements.
4 Mike Schnieders, president of CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, Neb., will step in and serve at the helm of both hospitals, until the hospitals find a replacement.
