CHI Franciscan names market president for Pierce County: 5 things to know

Tacoma, Wash.-based CHI Franciscan Health has appointed Syd Bersante market president for Pierce County in Washington, according to a Enumclaw Courier-Herald report.

Here are five things to know about Ms. Bersante.

1. In her new role, she will be responsible for St. Clare Hospital in Lakewood, Wash., St. Elizabeth Hospital in Enumclaw, Wash., and St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma.

2. Ms. Bersante joined CHI Franciscan in 1990.

3. Most recently, she was president of St. Joseph Medical Center since November 2007.

4. Prior to that, she held executive positions at both St. Francis Hospital in Federal Way, Wash., and St. Clare Hospital in addition to her position at St. Joseph Medical Center.

5. Aside from Ms. Bersante’s appointment, CHI Franciscan has also appointed Tony McLean market president for South King County, which includes St. Francis Hospital, according to the report. With the retirement of Highline Medical Center president Mark Benedum, he will also oversee Burien, Wash.-based Highline Medical Center beginning Jan. 1, 2016.
