CFO of Bankrupt Fairmont General Hospital Resigns

Fairmont (W.Va.) General Hospital CFO Dan Honerbrink has resigned from the bankrupt hospital, effective Monday, according to a WBOY report.

Mr. Honerbrink resigned as Fairmont General Hospital President and CEO Robert Marquardt also stepped down.

The 207-bed hospital filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this month and is trying to find a willing hospital or health system buyer. Fairmont General Hospital officials called the bankruptcy filing "necessary" to eventually merge with another organization.

Peggy Coster, RN, formerly the vice president of patient services at the hospital, was named interim CEO. Michael Lane, a consultant with Hammond Hanlon Camp, is serving as the hospital's chief restructuring adviser.
