CEO of 2 University of Vermont Health Network hospitals to retire: 6 notes

Stephens Mundy, president and CEO of Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, N.Y., and Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh, N.Y., is retiring at the end of June, according to a Press-Republican report.

Here are six notes:

1. Mr. Mundy has served as president and CEO of Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital for 16 years.

2. He took over leadership at Alice Hyde Medical Center in May 2017, initially serving as interim president and CEO. He assumed the role permanently in October 2017.

3. Both hospitals are a part of Burlington-based University of Vermont Health Network.

4. During his tenure at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital, Mr. Mundy helped create the CVPH family medicine residency and enhanced mental health offering by adding psychiatrists.

5. He is a past chair of the Healthcare Association of New York.

6. Prior to joining University of Vermont Health Network, he was CEO at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Parkersburg, W. Va.
