Freehold, N.J.-based CentraState Healthcare System tapped James Matera, DO, to serve as senior vice president and CMO.

1. Dr. Matera, who assumed the role March 3, has served on the medical staff at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold for more than 20 years.

2. He is a practicing nephrologist and former president of the medical/dental staff at CentraState Medical Center.

3. He will maintain a small clinical practice while serving as the health system’s CMO.
