Central Maine Medical Center hires Dr. David Tupponce as president: 3 takeaways

At the beginning of October, David Tupponce, MD, assumed the president role at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston as well as the executive vice president role at Lewiston-based Central Maine Healthcare, the medical center’s parent, according to a Lewiston-Auburn Sun Journal report.

Here are three takeaways:

1. Most recently, Dr. Tupponce served as CEO for a Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare facility in Phoenix.

2. A primary care physician, he completed his at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

3. He succeeds Tina Legere, who resigned in January. Jeff Brickman, Central Maine Healthcare’s president and CEO took the reigns at CMMC after Ms. Legere’s departure.
