Mr. Brvenik has led the hospital since September 2011. During his tenure, the hospital added a 120,000-square-foot specialty pavilion and underwent a rebranding, changing its name from Carteret General Hospital to Carteret Health Care.
The hospital also established a physician practice and entered into a cancer care partnership with UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center in Chapel Hill, N.C., under his leadership.
The hospital’s board of directors plans to search nationally for Mr. Brvenik’s replacement.
