CaroMont Health names Chris Peek CEO

Gastonia, N.C.-based CaroMont Health tapped Chris Peek to serve as permanent president and CEO, effective May 15. Mr. Peek takes over from Todd Davis, MD, who has served at the helm of the health system on an interim basis for just over a month.

Mr. Peek serves as deputy county manager and chief of staff for the Mecklenburg County Government, based in North Carolina. Prior to that, he was the human resources director for the county government. He has served on CaroMont Health's board of directors since January 2015 and previously served as its chairman.

Mr. Peek holds an MBA degree from Amberton University in Dallas.

"Upon careful consideration, the search committee unanimously nominated Chris Peek as the new CEO of the organization. We are fortunate to have someone as uniquely qualified and familiar with our health system as Chris Peek, to truly hit the ground running," said Donnie Loftis, vice chair of the CaroMont board of directors and chair of the search committee.

CaroMont appointed Dr. Davis as interim president and CEO at the end of March, following the sudden resignation of Doug Luckett.
