Carilion Clinic taps Jefferson Health executive as COO

Christopher Cullom has been appointed COO of Roanoke, Va.-based Carilion Clinic.

Mr. Cullom brings experience leading complex healthcare organizations and improving operations while prioritizing quality, safety, patient experience and employee engagement, President and CEO Steve Arner wrote in an Aug. 5 LinkedIn post.

He joins the system from Philadelphia-based Jefferson Health, where he served as COO of Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals since September 2023, according to his LinkedIn profile. He oversaw Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Jefferson Methodist Hospital and Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience. 

Before joining Jefferson Health, Mr. Cullom served as president of the South region for Newtown Square, Pa.-based Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic.
