Providence, R.I.-based Women & Infants Hospital has appointed Methodius Tuuli, MD, as interim president, effective Dec. 26.
Dr. Tuuli will succeed Shannon Sullivan, who accepted a new role as CEO of Hartford-based Connecticut Children’s, according to a Dec. 1 hospital news release shared with Becker’s.
He currently serves as chief of obstetrics and gynecology at Women & Infants and executive chief of obstetrics and gynecology for Care New England Health System. In his role, he has focused on improving quality and eliminating disparities in perinatal outcomes, the release said.
Women & Infants Hospital is the ninth largest stand-alone obstetrical service in the U.S. and the largest in New England, with approximately 8,700 deliveries each year. The hospital is part of Care New England and serves as a major teaching affiliate of The Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University in Providence.
