Capella Healthcare’s Denise Warren Named CFO of the Year by Nashville Business Journal

Nashville Business Journal has named Franklin, Tenn.-based Capella Healthcare’s Denise Warren as CFO of the year in the large, private company category, according to a Capella news release.

Ms. Warren is credited with leading the company through a successful $535 million debt transaction in Feb. 2008 to purchase nine hospitals, which more than tripled the size of the company, according to the release.

Winners of the Business Journal’s 2009 CFO Awards are based on several criteria, such as demonstrated financial growth during the year, success in overcoming significant business challenges or barriers and examples of team leadership, superior management, contributions to the community, demonstrated commitment to the company’s financial best practices and accounting standards or success as strategic visionary for the enterprise, according to the release.

Ms. Warren severed as director of Equity Research for Avondale Partners prior to coming to Capella. She also served as senior vice president and CFO for Gaylord Entertainment Company and director and senior equity analyst for Merrill Lynch & Co. in New York.
