Cambridge Health Alliance names CIO: 4 things to know

Cambridge (Mass.) Health Alliance selected Brian Herrick, MD, to serve as CIO.

Four things to know:

1. Most recently, Dr. Herrick served as chief medical information officer at CHA, an academic community health system.

2. He has helped oversee the implementation of several clinical information systems at CHA as well as the launch of new features in CHA’s MyChart patient portal.

3. Dr. Herrick joined CHA in 2010.

4. In addition to his medical training, he completed a fellowship in faculty development at the University of California at San Francisco and a certificate in biomedical informatics from Portland-based Oregon Health and Science University.
