Shawn McKenzie, CEO of Chester, Calif.-based Seneca Healthcare District, will retire at the conclusion of his sixth year of service on Nov. 30.
Mr. McKenzie joined the district in November 2020 and has more than 44 years of experience in the healthcare industry, according to a Jan. 13 hospital district news release.
The district said it has been planning for the leadership transition for more than a year. Brady Haynes, the district’s COO, was hired to allow time to learn the organization’s operations before succeeding Mr. McKenzie. Mr. Haynes’ will become CEO on Dec. 1.
During Mr. McKenzie’s tenure, the district advanced plans for a new hospital, which is on track to be completed in spring 2027.
