Broward Health taps new CFO: 6 notes

Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Broward Health appointed Alex Fernandez senior vice president and CFO.

Six notes:

1. Mr. Fernandez was previously vice president of financial operations at Broward.

2. He is also the former CFO of Broward Health Medical Center and Salah Foundation Children’s Hospital, both based in Fort Lauderdale.

3. Prior to joining Broward, he spent 12 years working at Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare.

4. He is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.

5. Mr. Fernandez holds an MBA from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton.

6. Alan Goldsmith, former CFO of Broward Health, transitioned into the chief administrative officer role at the health system.
