Boston’s Beth Israel Deaconess COO Eric Buehrens Steps Down

Eric Buehrens, COO of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, has stepped down for unknown reasons, according to a Boston Globe report.

Mr. Buehrens has served as COO of BIDMC since 2007 and took on the interim CEO role when former CEO Paul Levy resigned in January. According to the report, Mr. Buehrens expressed a desire to serve as permanent CEO, but the hospital board ultimately hired Kevin Tabb, MD, in September.
