Currently, Mr. Fernandez serves as senior vice president of ambulatory services at Boston-based Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He previously served as COO of Boston-based Steward Health Care System’s physician group, according to the report.
Mr. Fernandez will replace Peter Healy, who is leaving at the end of the year to serve as president of Beth Israel Deaconess’s flagship hospital in Boston, effective Jan. 1.
Michael Conklin, CFO of Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Milton, will serve as interim CEO for the hospital during the month of January, according to the report.
