Raquel Belforti, DO, has been appointed regional executive dean of UMass Chan Medical School-Baystate Campus in Springfield, Mass., and chief academic officer of Springfield-based Baystate Health.
In her dual role, Dr. Belforti will oversee all aspects of the UMass Chan-Baystate regional campus and the Population-based Urban and Rural Community Health track at the T.H. Chan School of Medicine, according to a July 2 Baystate Health news release that was shared with Becker’s.
Dr. Belforti has served as UMass Chan-Baystate’s associate dean of education since 2023 and has been instrumental to the PURCH program since 2017. She also serves as director of Baystate Health’s Physician Leadership Academy and co-director of Mentors Matter, a faculty peer-mentoring program.
Baystate Health serves more than 800,000 people across western New England.
