Bay Medical Sacred Heart CEO abruptly resigns: 5 things to know

Panama City, Fla.-based Bay Medical Sacred Heart CEO Steve Grubbs resigned, effective Feb. 19, according to a Panama City News Herald report.

Here are five things to know:

1. Both the hospital and Mr. Grubbs declined to comment on the sudden departure.

2. Mr. Grubbs assumed the top leadership role at the hospital in August 2015.

3. During his tenure, the hospital opened The Bay Medical Center Beach ER, a full-service emergency room.

4. He spent 28-plus years in healthcare, beginning his career at Humana. He served as CFO at numerous health systems.

5. Bay Medical Sacred Heart COO Heath Evans will take over as interim CEO.
