Baptist Health taps Texas Health Resources executive as new CEO

Jacksonville, Fla.-based Baptist Health appointed Brett S. McClung president and CEO, effective in early July.

Mr. McClung has served as the executive vice president and chief operations leader for the north zone of Arlington-based Texas Health Resources since 2013. He has worked at Texas Health Resources and Harris Methodist Texas Health Plan since 1993, serving in several leadership roles, including president of hospitals in suburban and large urban markets and director/network manager of the health plan.

Mr. McClung is a fellow with the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He earned a master of science degree in healthcare administration from Trinity University in San Antonio.

Mr. McClung succeeds Hugh Greene, who is retiring after 18 years at the helm of the health system.
