Baptist Health Louisville taps president

Baptist Health Louisville (Ky.), a 519-bed hospital, has selected Johnathan Velez, MD, as its next president.

Dr. Velez is trained as both an emergency medicine physician and a computer scientist, according to a June 14 news release shared with Becker’s. He has spent the past six years as chief operations and physician executive at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers, Fla. 

Dr. Velez succeeds Larry Gray, who is retiring after nearly 40 years with the health system, effective July 17.
