Banner Health taps Hoyt Skabelund to serve as Sterling Regional MedCenter CEO: 5 notes

Phoenix-based Banner Health named Hoyt Skabelund CEO of Sterling (Colo.) Regional MedCenter, according to a Journal-Advocate report.

Here are five notes:

1. Mr. Skabelund most recently served as CEO of Banner Churchill Community Hospital in Fallon, Nev.

2. Prior to joining Banner Health, he worked at Albuquerque, N.M.-based Presbyterian Healthcare Services.

3. At Presbyterian, he worked at Plains Regional Medical Center, in Clovis, N.M.

4. He succeeds Jeff Shelton, who left the hospital due to a “personnel matter.”

5. In addition to leading Sterling Regional MedCenter, Mr. Skabelund will oversee hospital operations in Banner’s rural communities, including Colorado, Nebraska, Nevada, California and Wyoming.
