Phoenix-based Banner Health appointed Marjorie Bessel, MD, chief clinical officer.

1. Dr. Bessel most recently served as vice president/CMO for community delivery at Banner Health.

2. She has served in numerous leadership roles during her 12 years working at Banner, including as vice president for clinical integration.

3. An internist, she completed her residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.

4. She succeeds John Hensing, MD, who retired.
