Ballad Health selects new Johnson City Medical Center COO: 4 things to know

Johnson City, Tenn.-based Ballad Health appointed Kenny Shafer COO of Johnson City Medical Center.

Here are four things to know:

1. Mr. Shafer most recently served as COO of the Indian Path Medical Center in Kingsport, Tenn.

2. He was also assistant vice president of Ballad Health’s neuroscience service line.

3. He formerly worked as associate administrator for Johnson City Medical Center, Niswonger Children’s Hospital and Woodridge Hospital, all located in Johnson City.

4. He earned a master’s degree in health administration from Gainesville-based University of Florida.
