Dr. Groom, a family medicine and obstetric physician, currently practices at Lakes Regional Healthcare, an Avera affiliate in Spirit Lake, Iowa. She will transition away from her clinical duties in February to take on the CMO role, where she will focus on strengthening physician relationships, clinician well-being, quality of care, and service line growth, according to a Nov. 20 news release.
Avera Health operates in South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska and North Dakota. The system includes several regional centers, a tertiary medical center in Sioux Falls, and 36 community and critical access hospitals.
