Ms. Lautt will take the helm Aug. 5, according to a news release. She will continue as CFO while serving as interim president and CEO.
The appointment comes after Avera announced in April that Bob Sutton would step down as president and CEO for health reasons.
Ms. Lautt has been with Avera for more than two decades, according to the release. Previously, she served as vice president of operational finance with the health system.
Additionally, at Sioux Falls-based Avera McKennan Hospital & University Health Center, the health system’s flagship facility, she served as controller of managed hospitals, vice president and corporate controller and then as senior vice president and CFO. She was named CFO of the health system in 2020.
