Aurora Health Care names Dr. Joanne Disch board of directors chair; adds Dr. Tejal Gandhi as member

Milwaukee-based Aurora Health Care selected Joanne Disch, PhD, as the new chair of its board of directors and added Tejal Gandhi, MD, as a new member.

Here are five points:

1. Dr. Disch is professor ad honorem at the University of Minnesota School of Nursing in Minneapolis.

2. She is a past president of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses and American Academy of Nursing.

3. She is the first nurse to chair the Aurora board of directors, and she succeeds John Daniels who will continue to serve as a director.  

4. Dr. Gandhi is president and CEO of the National Patient Safety Foundation, NPSF Lucian Leape Institute and the Certification Board for Professionals in Patient Safety.

5. She is an internist and associate professor at the Harvard Medical School in Boston.
