Augusta University Health System names Katrina Keefer CEO

Augusta (Ga.) University Health System has tapped Katrina Keefer to serve as CEO, effective July 15. She will also serve as executive vice president for health affairs at Augusta University.

Ms. Keefer now is senior vice president and CFO for Montgomery, Ala.-based Baptist Health, an affiliate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham Health System. She has worked at UAB Health System for 17 years.

Ms. Keefer previously worked as a project consultant to the New York City Partnership and Chamber of Commerce in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

She holds a master's degree in public administration from New York University in New York City.

Ms. Keefer is the permanent successor to Lee Ann Liska, who resigned June 6. Since then, the health system merged the leadership of the health system with its flagship facility, Augusta University Medical Center.
