Aspirus' UP regional CEO departs: 3 takeaways

Chuck Nelson, Upper Peninsula regional CEO at Wausau, Wis.-based Aspirus, left the role for a new opportunity outside of healthcare, according to an UPMatters.com report.

Here are three takeaways:

1. Mr. Nelson joined Aspirus in July 2008.

2. Aspirus has made several investments in its Upper Peninsula facilities, including a $2.5 million renovation of Aspirus Ontonagon (Mich.) Hospital's emergency department and inpatient unit.

3. Jesse Tischer, Aspirus' senior vice president of enterprise development and operations will become interim UP regional CEO at the end of the month. Rick Nevers, Aspirus' senior vice president of regional operations, will help oversee operations in the region.
