Ascension Texas names chief clinical officer

Ascension Texas has appointed Joshua Pozos, MD, chief clinical officer for the market.

Dr. Pozos most recently served as chief medical officer of Ascension Seton Hays, based in Austin, Texas, according to a May 11 health system news release.

In his new role, he will oversee clinical strategy and medical operations across Ascension Texas. Jamie Youseff, CEO of Ascension Texas, said Dr. Pozos’ experience within the system and focus on quality positioned him to lead the organization’s clinical operations.

Before joining Ascension, Dr. Pozos served as a hospitalist and educator at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and worked within the South Texas Veterans Health Care System, the release said.
