After serving Evanston, Ill.-based Endeavor Health, Bruce McNulty, MD, will become chief medical officer of Elk Grove Village, Ill.-based Ascension Alexian Brothers in October.
Ascension Alexian Brothers is a critical care hospital part of St. Louis-based Ascension, which includes 119 hospitals across 14 states. Ascension Illinois’ chief clinical officer, David Bordo, MD, has served as interim CMO of the hospital since March 2025, according to a Sept. 3 news release from the health system.
Dr. McNulty will bring more than three decades of experience to Ascension Alexian Brothers, the release said. He most recently served as senior vice president and CMO of Endeavor Health Swedish Hospital in Chicago.
In February, Ascension Alexian Brothers appointed Ellis Hawkins as president. Mr. Hawkins previously served as president of Ascension St. Mary-Chicago, which was among eight Ascension facilities in Illinois acquired by Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare in March 2025.
