Ellis Hawkins, FACHE, has been named president of Ascension Alexian Brothers in Elk Grove Village, Ill., effective the final week of February, according to a Feb. 4 release shared with Becker’s.
Mr. Hawkins most recently served as president of Ascension St. Mary–Chicago. That hospital was among eight Ascension facilities in Illinois acquired by Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare in March 2025.
During his tenure at St. Mary, Mr. Hawkins oversaw improvements in the hospital’s length of stay index, supported a Magnet redesignation, restructured the family medicine residency program and worked to enhance the consumer experience, according to the release.
Mr. Hawkins brings more than three decades of healthcare experience. Before joining Ascension, he served as president of Touchette Regional Hospital in Centreville, Ill., and held executive roles with St. Louis-based SSM Health.
Ascension Alexian Brothers is part of Ascension Illinois, which includes five hospitals and more than 80 sites of care in the Chicago area, per the release.
